The call system is designed for shipboard use, primarily for calling from a hospital and/or cold room, but it can be used for any type of call. There are two types of call systems: ITCS and ITCS-A. The attachments at the bottom of this page provide details of both systems.
The main difference between the two systems concerns alarm acceptance. In the ITCS system, pressing push button “ACCEPT” immediately also resets the call. This means that all audio and visual signals are stopped and the system is ready to start a new call.
In ITCS-A system, call accept and call reset are separated – pressing the “ACCEPT” push button turns off the audio signaling, but the visual signaling remains active until the “RESET” push button (at the location from which the call was made) is pressed. This feature ensures that the alarm remains visible until someone checks for what reason and from what location the call was made.
Versions for signaling calls from more locations are also available (types ITCS-1A-5, ITCS-1A-10 and ITCS-1A-15).
The Inelteh Call System can be built on the basis of a few different types of units, each of which has its own specific features.
For example, two control units exist within the ITCS-A system: type ITCS-1A (single) and ITCS-2A (dual). In addition, there are several call units, such as type ITCS-C1, ITCS-C2, ITCS-C3 and/or ITCS-C4 and reset unit type ITCS-RS.
When a call unit of type ITCS-C4 is used, a separate reset version is no longer necessary, as this unit itself already has a call reset function.
The Inelteh call system can additionally be equipped with signaling units of type ITCS-S and repeater units of type ITCS-R1.
The appendices at the bottom of this page provide a detailed description of each individual unit.
Control units exist for both the ITCS call system and the ITCS-A call system. Both single and dual versions of the control unit are available for each of the call systems:
A wooden alarm panel is also available for the Inelteh call system if desired. This wooden panel is chosen mainly because of its higher decorative value in ship interiors. With this wooden panel, an alarm is activated using a pull cord, thus replacing the location of the traditional push button.
The Inelteh call system can be assembled very flexibly to meet a variety of requirements. In addition to the different versions of call stations, control units are also available for receiving 5, 10 or even 15 different alarm signals. Such control units are used, for example, on freezer ships, which have multiple freezer rooms on board, or on hospital ships, where a larger number of patients can be monitored within the same call system.
For such larger systems, the “reset on site” principle is assumed by default. These panels are therefore suitable for use in the call system ICTS-A. In short, this means that an alarm from a particular location cannot be fully reset at the central control panel, but only at the location from which the alarm was triggered. This principle prevents, that an alarm can be turned off prematurely, without verifying on site what caused the given alarm.
More information on these multiple control units can be found in the Appendix Inelteh-Calling-System-B.
